In the corridors of the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (Esmuc), between strings and bows aside from classical tradition, arpeggios of performers, educators techniques, microphones of sound technicians, musicologists stories and strategic planning of managers intertwine . The result of all this convergence? The BARCELONA FIDDLE CONGRESS.
From November 15th to the 17th of, 2013 ESMUC will witness the first BARCELONA FIDDLE CONGRESS, which will offer a space aimed at music schools, conservatories, professionals, students and bowed strings. A place where to find, create common ground, observing, listening, speaking and thinking through various activities in different formats: lectures, discussions, workshops, open spaces, performances, open stage, workshops, conferences, concerts, master classes, round tables etc..
The term fiddle encompasses all those string instruments, especially in the non-classical traditions of violin, viola, cello and bass.
